Everyone has a lot of nice dreams..It is a common wish that we can live in comforting environment . For the Chinese, September 23,1993 is a reGREtful and unforgettable day . It was because of environmental problems that Beijing failed to sponsor the Olympic Games of 2000,which is a big regret for every Chinese .We successfully bid for the qualification for the 2008 Olympics after we solve the problem of environment .How can we sponsor the Olympics ? First of all ,we should do from trifles to create a beautiful environment so that we can truly carry out the Green Olympics.
我們每個人都有許多美好的夢想,生活在環境優美的世界是我們共同的心愿.一九九三年九月二十三日,那是一個讓全中國人遺憾、難忘的日子,北京申辦2000年奧運會,因爲環境問題以兩票之差落選.從此通過我們的努力,我們改善了環境,我們終於成功的申辦了2008年奧運會.奧運向我們走來,我們應該從一點一滴小事做起,創造美好環境,真正實現綠色奧運.朋友們,我們應該如何去實現我們的綠色奧運呢?
Water is the source of life; electricity is the necessity of our living .Each lawn can cheer up our heart and soul .Every animal is a creature in the nature . Are you sure that you save a drip of water in your daily life ? It is reported that the water resource per capita in Beijing is less than 300 cube meters, representing one eighth of the per capita level of China and one thirtieth of the world per capita level. Even worse, the underground water in some regions is absolutely undrinkable. Water pollution and water shortage have hindered Beijing's development seriously. The saying of "Don't make the last drop water be human's own tear" is by no means a deliberately exaggeration so as to create a sensation. If I was an environment protection worker, I would enact the law of environment protect strictly and check the pollution with all my perseverance. If I was a sewage treatment engineer, I would develop the most advanced sewage treatment equipment in the world that can be used to filter all the sewage into clean water. A pot of water can be used three or four times in my family . First , I use the fresh water to wash rice and then use it to wash my face .It′s reported that it is a good way to beautify my face . At last ,I use this water which is a kind of good fertilization to irrigate flowers .As a student in DianYe Middle School,we not only protect the water but also research the vegetation around us. Last summer holiday, with the teachers'help,we had a survey about the vegetation in ShiDu .We found fifty-eight species of plants were near extinction. It's a so large number! We reported it to the government and gave them three kinds of reasonable advices at once. Are you sure that you turn off the light when it is unnecessary whether you are at school 、 at factory or at home ? When you want to spit in public places , do you think of the SARS in 2003 ? When you walk in the park and see the colorful flowers , do you pick them off and arrogate to yourself ? When you walk through the school porch , do you draw everywhere ? When you walk into restaurants and see all kinds of creatures become so-called delicious dishes of human beings, does the dreadful scene make your heart and soul tremble? After all, they are all the living things just like our human beings! The comfortable environment around us needs to be created by every one of us!
水是生命之源,電是生活必需.每一片綠地都能愉悅我們的身心,每一個小動物都是自然環境中的小生命.在你每天的生活中,你節約一滴水,一度電了嗎?據說北京人均水資源不足300立方米,爲全國人均的1/8,世界人均的1/30,不少地區的地下水已經無法飲用,水汙染和水短缺嚴重影響著北京的發展."不要讓人類看到的最後一滴水是我們自己的眼淚"已經不再聳人聽聞.如果我是個環保工作者,我一定嚴格執行環保法,鍥而不捨地治理汙染.如果我是個汙水處理工,我一定要研製出世界上最先進的汙水處理設備,使所有的汙水都經過這套機器的過濾,在我家裡,一盆水可以用3--4次,先是用清水淘米,再用淘米水洗臉,聽說這種洗法還可以美容呢.這樣不是一舉兩得嗎?最後用它來澆花,這可是很好的肥料啊!作爲電業中學的學生,我們不僅保護水,而且研究周圍的植被,暑假裡在老師帶領下,在房山區十渡進行了爲期一周的實地考察,我們不僅寫出了調查報告,總結歸納出十渡植被中58種即將滅絕的植物,多麼大的數字啊.我們立即向當地政府提出了三條改進生態環境的合理化建議.在學校,在工廠,在家裡,在你不需要電的時候,你注意隨手關燈了嗎?當你感冒咳嗽吐痰的時候,你是否想過2003年那可怕的SARS?你是否想過周圍美好的環境?當你看到公園裡或路邊上盛開的五顏六色的鮮花時,你是否隨手摘下據爲己有?當你信步美麗的校園走廊,你是否隨心所欲的留下了你的筆跡、你的手印? 當你走進餐館,看到許多飛禽走獸成了人類所謂的美味佳肴,這可怕的一幕是否讓你的心靈爲之顫抖?他們也和人一樣是有生命的啊……!環境就在我身邊,綠色奧運需要我們去創造.

New Beijing, the Three-Colored New Olympics
Good afternoon, ladies and gentlemen.
Bidding for the Olympic Games is, in a way, an image-creating undertaking. The first and foremost thing is to let people fall in love with the city at first sight, attracting them by its unique image. What image does Beijing intend to create for itself once it has the opportunity to host the 2008 Olympics? It is known to all that the Beijing Municipal Government has already set the theme for the future games: New Beijing, Great Olympics. For me, the 2008 Olympics will be a great green Olympics illuminated with two more special colors: yellow and red.
First, yellow is a meaningful color. The Yellow River is China’s mother river and the cradle of Chinese civilization. We are of the yellow race and descendants of the Yellow Emperor. This color has a special origin and great significance for the Chinese people. Beijing is the capital of New China and previously the capital for nine dynasties in Chinese history. So, yellow will naturally add splendor to the 2008 Games.
Secondly, the 2008 Olympics will be a red pageant.
Red is another traditionally cherished color for the whole country. We adore red. On big occasions, we like to decorate our homes in red. It is the color of double happiness, representing joyous moments, auspiciousness, enthusiasm and prosperity. Red is one of the most suitable colors to describe the future of Beijing. Beijing, together with the whole country, is becoming more and more prosperous in the process of modernization.
Above all, the 2008 Olympics will be a green Olympics.
Adding the green ingredient is essential in creating an appealing image, as we can’t deny the fact that Beijing, at the moment, is not as green a city as what we like it to be. Striving for an environmentally appealing city has become a central task for all the citizens of Beijing. Big efforts have been made in pollution control, replanting and beautification of the city.
Certainly, all of this is no easy task. But I am sure that all of us have confidence that we will realize these green goals. For now we have the full support and participation of the environmentally conscious citizens. Each citizen is showing great concern for every one of the steps the city government takes. As the saying goes, 「United, we stand,」 and a green Beijing will be achieved.
When our aspiration becomes reality, it will be a unique Olympics. New Beijing, Great Olympics will be weaved of these three superb colors: yellow, red and green.

申辦奧運會從某種角度上說是一個塑造形象的工程.首先要著手做的第一件事,也是最重要的事情就是讓人們對這個城市一見鍾情,以城市自己獨特的形象吸引他們.一旦北京成爲二零零八年奧運會的主辦城市,她會爲自己塑造一個什麼樣的形象呢?衆所周知,北京市政府已經爲未來的這屆運動會設立了主題：新北京,新奧運.對我來說,二零零八年奧運會將會是一次綠色的奧林匹克盛事,與之交相輝映的更有另外兩種特別的顏色--黃色和紅色.
首先,黃色是一種意味深長的顏色.黃河是中國的母親河,是中華文化明的發源地.我們是黃種人,是炎黃子孫.這種顏色對中國人民來說有著特殊的根源和重要的意義.北京既是新中國的首都,也是中國歷史上九朝之都.所以,黃色自然會爲二零零八年的奧林匹克運動會增添光彩.
其次,二零零八年的奧林匹克運動會將是一次紅色的盛會.
紅色是中國人民珍愛的另一種傳統顏色.我們喜歡紅色,在重大節日裡,我們喜愛用紅色來裝飾我們的家.紅是雙喜臨門的顏色,象徵著快樂的時刻、吉祥、熱情和繁榮.紅色是一種用來描述未來北京的最適合的顏色之一.北京和祖國一起在現代化的進程中正不斷邁向繁榮富強.
最重要的是,二零零八年的奧林匹克運動會將會是一屆綠色的奧運會.
要塑造一個吸引人的形象,加入綠色是十分必要的,因爲我們不能否認北京目前並非一個讓我們滿意的綠色城市這一事實.努力成爲一個環境喜人的城市已經成爲北京市民的中心任務.這個城市在控制汙染、植樹種花和美化方面都作了相當大的努力.
當然,這可不是一個簡單的任務.但我堅信我們有信心實現這些綠色目標,因爲我們有具備環保意識的市民的全力支持和參與.每個市民都在熱切關注市政府採取的每一個措施.俗話說得好,「團結力量大」,綠色的北京一定能成爲現實.
