Tom arrived at the bus station quite early for Paris bus.The bus for Paris would not leave until five to twelve.He saw a lot of people waiting in the station.Some were standing in line（排隊）,others were walking around.There was a group of schoolgirls.Their teacher was trying to keep them in line.Tom looked around but there was no place for him to sit.
He walked into the station cafe（咖啡館）.he looked up at the clock there.It was only twenty to twelve.He found a seat and sat down before a large mirror（鏡子） on the wall.Just then,Mike,one of Tom’s workmates came in and sat with Tom.
「What time is your bus?」 asked Mike.
「There’s plenty of time yet,」 answered Tom.
「Well,I』ll get you some more tea then,」 said Mike.
They talked while drinking.Then Tom looked at the clock again.「Oh!
It’s going backward（倒走）!」 he cried.「A few minutes ago it was twenty to twelve and now it’s half past eleven.」
「You’re looking at the clock in the mirror.」 said Mike.Tom was so sad（難過）.The next bus was not to leave for another hour.Since then Tom has never liked mirrors.

Tom早早地來到了巴黎公車的站台,巴黎公車只會在12點差5分的時候離開.他看見好多人在站台等.有的人排著隊有的人在四處晃晃.有一羣學生少女,他們的老師努力想讓他們站在排隊的隊伍里.Tom四處看了看可是沒看見有他能坐的地方.
他走進了站台咖啡館,他擡頭看了看裡面的鐘,那會兒是12點差12分,他找到了一個作爲並在牆上掛著大鏡子的前面坐下了,就在那時候,Tom的一個同事 Mike走了進來坐在他旁邊.
「你的那公車是什麼時候的?」Mike問.
「還有好長一段時間的.」Tom回答道.
「那好吧,我再給你帶點茶來.」Mike說.
他們邊喝邊談,Tom又看了看鐘說,「噢!鍾是倒著走的!」他大叫,「幾分鐘之前是12點差12分現在是11點半了.」
「你看的是鏡子裡的鐘.」Mike說,Tom好難過,下一趟公車要再等一個小時.從那之後Tom再也沒有喜歡過鏡子.
