澹然空水帶斜晖，曲島蒼茫接翠微。

波上馬嘶看棹去，柳邊人歇待船歸。

數叢沙草群鷗散，萬頃江田一鹭飛。

誰解乘舟尋範蠡，五湖煙水獨忘機。

Crossing the Southern River

The quiet river dyed in rays of setting sun, The green islands and green mountains blend into one.

The horse neighs to see the boat go across the stream;

Roamers wait for ferries under willows in dream.

Flocks of gulls scatter over the reeds on the sand;

An heron flies across immense riverside land.

Who knows where to find the drunken sage in his boat?

On misty water of the five lakes he would float.
