40.C 媽媽今天早上問我,應爲過去時態,A,B 排除,因爲時態不對.C對,問出什麼事了,應用what is the matter,今早媽媽問的,應爲過去時態,is改成was,.what was the matter.由於what was the matter 是asked 的賓語從句,而在所有從句中都要用陳述句的語序,故應將was放在主語matter 之後,賓語從句就是what the matter was.D不對,因爲在what is wrong中wrong是形容詞,不可能將作表語的形容詞wrong放在系動詞之前.
41.A.under which對,因爲a big ship can go 是bridge的定語從句,先行詞是bridge指物,關係代詞當然選which,可是船在橋下過,因此就要用介詞under,本來這個句子是The bridge which a big ship can go under(which) has been built.,現在將介詞under提到關係代詞which前了.B不對,因爲只有under which沒有under that.C不對 因爲which指橋(bridge),船不能在橋中過,in which是介詞錯了.同理D也不對,不能用介詞on,船不能在橋上過.
42.我個人的意見是B和C都對,因爲he had visited 是school的定語從句,school 是先行詞,指"物",當先行詞指物同時關係代詞在後面的定語從句中作賓語時,可以用that 和which 作爲關係代詞.這時的that=which.A顯然不對,因爲先行詞不是指人,當然不能用who D也不對,應將about去掉,理由是visit是及物動詞,可以說visit school,根本用不著介詞,不可能說visit about the school.
