什麼類型的英語故事啊請問? 是自己編的還是童話故事呢?
Once upon a time(很久以前)there was a prince who wanted to marry a princess;
but she would have to be a real princess. He travelled (旅行)all over the world to find one, but nowhere(無處) could he get what he wanted. There were princesses enough, but it was difficult(困難) to find out whether (是否)they were real ones. There was always something about them that was not as it should be. So he came home again and was sad, for he would have liked very much to have a real princess.
One evening(傍晚) a terrible(巨大)storm came on; there was thunder(打雷) and lightning, and the rain poured down in torrents(奔流). Suddenly(忽然) a knocking was heard at the city gate, and the old king went to open it.
It was a princess standing out there in front of the gate. But, good gracious! what a sight the rain and the wind had made her look. The water ran down from her hair and clothes(衣服); it ran down into the toes of her shoes and out again at the heels. And yet she said that she was a real princess.
Well, we'll soon find that out, thought the old queen. But she said nothing, went into the bed-room, took all the bedding(寢具) off the bedstead, and laid a pea on the bottom; then she took twenty mattresses(牀褥) and laid them on the pea(豌豆), and then twenty eider-down beds on top of the mattresses.
On this the princess had to lie all night. In the morning she was asked how she had slept.
"Oh, very badly!" said she. "I have scarcely(幾乎不) closed my eyes all night. Heaven only knows what was in the bed, but I was lying on something hard, so that I am black and blue all over my body. It's horrible(可怕)!"
Now they knew that she was a real princess because she had felt the pea right through the twenty mattresses and the twenty eider-down beds.
Nobody but a real princess could be as sensitive(敏感的) as that.
So the prince took her for his wife, for now he knew that he had a real princess; and the pea was put in the museum(博物館), where it may still be seen, if no one has stolen it.
There, that is a true story.
A group of frogs were travelling through the woods, and two of them
fell into a deep pit. When the other frogs saw how deep the pit
was, they told the two frogs that they were as good as dead. The
two frogs ignored the comments and tried to jump up out of the pit
with all their might. The other frogs kept telling them to stop,
that they were as good as dead. Finally, one of the frogs took
heed to what the other frogs were saying and gave up. He fell down
and died.
The other frog continued to jump as hard as he could. Once again,
the crowd of frogs yelled at him to stop the pain and just die. He
jumped even harder and finally made it out. When he got out, the
other frogs said, "Did you not hear us?" The frog explained to
them that he was deaf. He thought they were encouraging him the
entire time.
