直到現在,每個喜歡傳統文化的人,無論是中國人,還是日本人,還是我最不喜歡的韓國人,都一定會學習圍棋.

Acient Chinese always made friends by weiqi.In acient China,the nobility 's talents were primarily compared with regard to four items:guqin,weiqi,calligraphy,Chinese painting.Thus,with weiqi as a required course for the nobility,people who were accomplished in weiqi were generally respected.
So far,Korea is globally the most developed country in weiqi,but my favorite weiqi athletes are Japanese,such as Tengzexiuxing,who goes after weiqi moren in artistry rather than competion.
The most outstanding weiqi athlete in current Japan turns out to be Zhangyu,who was born in Taiwan,China and took Japanese nationality later. His weiqi style just reflects the Japanese one.
In China,weiqi is gradually forgotten as other tradional cultures do,while Chinese government put more attention to GDP rather than tradional culture. They indeed have time to emphasize the wrong translation "go chess" for "weiqi",leaving none to actually develope weiqi.In contrast,Japanese value weiqi so much that when the weiqi athlete Tengzexiuxing passed away, Japanese government even flied half-mast to express their grief.
Up to now,every weiqi fan,whether Japanese ,Chinese or Korean,who I dislike most,will learn weiqi.
Weiqi is more than a kind of game,but a sport. There are always weiqi competitions in every World mind sports game.Weiqi,however,is a culture,ranked among the most important components of Chinese tradional culture. It's my favorite,admirest sport and cultre.Above all,it's a world of black and white,a culture that replace conflicts with harmoniousness,the unciviled with the civiled,pride with modesty,rudeness with courtesy.
